An 87-year-old World War II veteran jumped out of an airplane thousands of feet over Ohio to raise money to help pay his sick great-grandson’s medical bills, on Saturday.
Clarence Turner of Fairfield, who parachuted along with an instructor, said that he wanted to generate attention for the plight of his 10-month-old great-grandson, the Fox News reported.
According to WLWT of Cincinnati, Julian Couch suffers from a lung disease that could require a transplant and is hospitalized in Columbus.
A fundraiser is planned for June 2.
Turner also made a jump at the age of 85 to fulfil a goal to experience freefalling and landing as he did in the Army.
Turner said that he also hopes to make a parachute jump in the future, at an older age than former US President George H.W. Bush, who’s 88. (ANI)
