Cases were registered by the Legal Metrology Department for violations and irregularities against 27 gold stores, 54 cases against wholesale firecracker shops and three cases against sweet shops and also against 11 firecracker outlets which were selling crackers at prices more than the MRP on the packages.
The manufacturer or the date of packaging were also not mentioned and several price adjustment with additional stickers bearing higher prices being fixed.
It was the same case with gold weight. Many jewellers also did not mention the purity of the gold or the stone amount in the bill. They were also found using non-standard weighing machines
