83% of population of the country devoid of Smartphone

Hyderabad: If a review of cashless transactions is made, it would come to be known that 83% of the population of the country does not enjoy Smartphone facility. It is difficult to say that how far the attends of making cashless transactions would be successful? Most of the people of India do not know English. According to a report, Smartphone is confined only to Urban areas whereas rural population has not recorded any increase in the use of Smartphone. According to statistics released by NASCOM India, only 330 million persons were using internet till the end of 2015. It is expected that by 2020, 56% of the population of the country would be equipped with internet facilities. Telecom Regulatory Authority of India reported that by the end of March 2016, only 342 million out of 912 million population is deprived of internet facilities. The present number of Smartphones is not enough to transact cashless business. Despite this, Govt. is campaigning to create awareness for cashless transactions.

The speed of internet is also a problem for Indian user. The speed of internet used internationally is faster than India. There are only 15% mobile phone users who have the facility of broad band.
