Hyderabad Traffic Police has conducted the Special drive on Drunken Drive during day time from (2 PM- 5 PM) to curtail the violators who are endangering their lives and also other road users.
The Special drive against Drunk Driving at day time was carried out on 1st and 3rd October and total number of 82 cases were booked against the drunk drivers. They include 70 wheeler, nine three wheeler and three four-wheeler.
Two Drunken Drivers were caught with high Blood Alcohol concentration level (BAC) of 339mg/100ml (2 wheeler) and 246 mg/100 ml (3 wheeler) at day time. The normal BAC level should be below 30 mg/100ml.
Drunken Drivers will be given counselling session at all the Traffic Police Stations apart from TTI Goshamahal and Begumpet to ensure their safety and as well the other commuters and Pedestrians on roads.
The main aim of conducting the special drive on Drunken Drive and counselling is to impart Traffic Education to the violators for the safety of pedestrians and who are travelling on vehicles to reach their destinations safely by following the Traffic Rules. The Drunken Drive at day time will be continued, said Additional Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Jithender. (INN)
