Former Union Minister of Finance, P Chidambaram slammed the Narendra Modi government on Friday saying “Modi is a neo fortune teller”.
Speaking in a public event, Chidambaram said, “Like a miracle, Modi has come to Chennai after 14 months since the election. He was able to visit 27 countries in 14 months but not even once did he visit our city.”
“BJP earned only 31 percent while 69 percent abstained during the last election.Just by acquiring majority in Parliament don`t mean you at majority within the people. Has he announced any long standing `yojna` in 14 years?,” asked Chidambaram.
“UN recognised 100 days rural employment scheme as symbol of Congress`s failure. Now UN has recognised the scheme as the world`s only poverty curbing scheme. A party`s motive is to acquire power to make a lot of dreams into reality. Once Congress comes to power, we don`t worry about their next election. We don`t create schemes to plot scams” he added.
“Narendra Modi is a neo fortune teller. Swachh Bharat is a scheme where you want people to clean the streets. Has India become clean now? This was not a new scheme but Congress` Nirmal Bharat,” he further said.
