8-yr-old kids indulge in violence

London, August 10: Meanwhile in Hackney, thugs torched four cars outside a block of flats then hurled petrol bombs at police.

Boys as young as eight ran in between broken glass and the lit cars, holding bottles in their hands ready to hurl at officers.

They acted as lookouts for the older thugs.

Police said 450 people were arrested over three nights, and 69, including an 11-year-old boy, were charged with offences.

At least 100 of those arrested were aged 21 or younger. About 35 officers were injured.

After dawn, the unrest appeared to calm, either quelled by police or fading as rioters drifted away.
