8-year-old was sexually abused by the youth

On Saturday evening, an eight-year-old girl was allegedly sexually abused by her teenage neighbour in Jakkasandra. Police said the teenager forced the victim, a class III student at a government school, into his house when she was playing outside. Though the suspect has been held but police have refused to disclose his identity, suspecting him to be underage.

The girl was playing with a ball had strayed into the compound of the suspect’s house and the victim had gone there to get it. On seeing her in the house ,the suspect then locked the house and made an alleged attempt to sexually abuse her.

Tthe girl’s mother came looking for her and suspected that her daughter had been held up by the suspect in his house. The mother then entered into the house only to find the teenager attempting to molest her young daughter.

The mother said in her complaint to the Madiwala police,the suspect had forcibly undressed the victim. Though she saved her daughter, but she could not catch the teenager who fled in no time, the mother added.

A case has been registered by the Madiwala police against the suspect for outraging the modesty of a woman under Section 354 of the IPC, and under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2013. The teenager was arrested in Venkatapura after police acted on a tip-off.

The young victim underwent a medical examination at the Victoria Hospital late on Saturday evening.

Though the identity of the suspect is not disclose, as his age was yet to be confirmed.The suspect used to do menial jobs in the locality, said a senior officer.
