A unknown young girl’s half- burned body was dumped in a sack in a bush at Mahalakshmi Nagar in the southwestern suburb of Guduvanchery on Sunday.
A Passersby found the girl on Mahalakshmi Street where the street dogs trying to tear apart the sack near a private nursery school.
The local residents informed the police, the sack had a foul and burned smell. The police said. “It was a naked body of a girl and the face was half burnt, probably to mask the identity of the victim.”
An investigating officer said.
“She appears to be around eight years old. The body was naked and partially burned,”
“Her assailants appear to have mutilated her face in an attempt to conceal her identity.”
He further added.”We suspect that the killers could have sexually abused the girl, but a postmortem will have to confirm that.”
The body of the girl is sent for autopsy to Chengalpet Government Hospital.
A police officer said. “We don’t have any missing complaint about the girl in the
local station. All other neighbouring police stations were alerted,” we have also sent photographs of the girl’s face and her half-burned body to other police stations in an attempt to establish her identity. He said.
A case have been registered under IPC Section 302 (murder) at The Kancheepuram police station.
