Eight nurses working in a district hospital here were awarded five-year jail term and slapped a fine of Rs 5,000 each by a local court here today for securing government job on the basis of fake documents. The sentence was awarded by Additional Session Judge Rajendra Prasad Gupta against nurses Salma Siddqui, Nibha Nagvanshi, Mamata Pandey, Rubina Khan, Sarita, Archana Sharma, Kalpana Burman and Anjana Patel under various sections of the IPC, prosecution said. They had submitted fake documents to the Chief Medical and Health Officer here in 2010 for undergoing nurses training course and later secured job in a government hospital. An enquiry launched after a complaint was received found the documents produced by them were fake. Among the eight nurses, Anjana is absconding and the rest were sent to jail, the prosecution said.
