8 killed in accidents

Nizamabad, April 23: Four persons were killed in two separate incidents that occurred in the district since early morning on Friday.

Peddaboina Ramavva (58) and her son Narsimhulu (39) of Lingapalle in Kamareddi mandal were electrocuted on their farm land at the village when they went there to switch on the agricultural pumpset around 6 a.m.. They came in the contact of the live electric wire and died of electric shock on the spot. The wire was snapped off due to strong gales that blew last night.

In another incident, siblings Sangeetha Bai (13) and Sabbu Bai (12) were drowned in an irrigation tank at Karegoan village in Kotagiri mandal this afternoon. Belonged to Borgi tanda in Kamti mandal of Medak district, they along with their elders arrived at Karegoan while grazing their cattle, according to Sub-Inspector of Police Praveen Babu.

Ongole staff Reporter writes: Four people were killed and six others injured in two different road mishaps in Prakasam district on Friday.

Thirty-year-old LIC agent Prasad was killed and his friend injured when their motorcycle was hit by a speeding lorry from Chennai on the NH 5 here, police said.

A lorry driver, cleaner and a bus passenger were killed and five others injured when a Kurnool-bound bus from Vijayawada hit a stationary lorry at Dronala in Markapur division, police said. The injured were rushed to the Government hospital at Markapur.
