8 killed, 6 injured in separate road accidents

Hyderabad, August 07: Eight people, including three women were today killed and six others injured in two different road accidents in Andhra Pradesh. Police said in Chittoor District, five people were killed and three injured when the jeep, in which they were travelling, collided head-on with a lorry at Seetharampet in Yarpadu Mandal.

The occupants were proceeding to Srikalahasti from the pilgrimage town of Tirupati. In West Godavari District, three women were killed while three others sustained injuries when the autorickshaw, in which they were travelling, hit a lorry at Chebrolu in Untadoor Mandal. The victims hailed from Aalamooru in East Godavari District, police said. The deceased were yet to be identified. The injured persons were admitted to hospitals in both the districts, police added.
