Indian Haj Committee Member Dr Salim Raj today said that 707 extra seats for Haj 2012 have been alloted to Andhra Pradesh. In a release here, Dr Salim said these seats will be alloted to pilgrims from waiting list number 1344 to 2064, through draw. As per Supreme Court order a total number of 7,550 seats were available from government quota. These seats have been distributed to the states in the ratio of muslim population accordingly to the Census 2001, he said. Attempts to increase the quota for Haj 2012 is under process, Dr Salim said and added seats received from increase of quota by the Saudi Arabia will be distributed to the states. UNI
