Govt. of AP will take effective steps for filling up of 7000 vacancies in Revenue Department. These vacancies include Village Revenue Officer, Village Revenue Assistant etc. These appointments will be made in a next 2 months. This was disclosed by Mr. N. Raghuveera Reddy, Revenue Minister. He also sais that in order to improve the efficiency of the Revenue Department 10 New Revenue Divisions would be constituted and 10 RDO Offices are also being setup he said that 50 Urban Tehsildar Offices are also being constituted. About the computerization of Revenue Records, the Minister said thast so far 4.30 crore Revenue Records have been computerized. This will prevent irregularities. The Minister told that Data about cultivable lands in villages are being gathered so that these lands could be distributed among the poor.
The Minister informed that Govt. will ensure the distribution of lands to landless in the 7th phase of land distribution which will start in August this year. It is proposed to distribute 70 Lakh acres among the poor farmers. Mr. Reddy said that where ever Govt. lands are available Govt. will distribute to the poor.
