New Delhi, December 12: Over 700 arms licences have been issued in the national capital this year so far with revolvers and pistols topping the list.
According to Delhi Police figures, a total of 734 arm licences for non-prohibited bore weapons were issued till November 10 this year.
Out of the 734, a senior police official said, licences were issued for 587 revolvers or pistols while 147 licences were given for the use of rifles or guns.
For other weapons, the official said, no licence were given this year.
Last year, a total of 798 licences were issued for non-prohibited bore weapons, which included 638 for revolvers or pistols.
Last year, 159 licences were issued for rifles or guns besides one for other weapons.
The official also said that a total of 2,890 arms licences have been extended area validity to all India in the capital between November 11, 1995 to March 31, 2010.
