New Delhi: Crime against women needs to be controlled with strict punishments being imposed for offenders and violators. The cries of victims are going unheard whereas the courage of these criminals is increasing by each day.
Yet another shameful act has been reported by sources where a 70-yr-old French woman was raped in her rented residence at night by a security guard in Varanasi on Wednesday.
The woman frequents India since 1977 as she works with a local NGO in Rohaniya area. The guard who was drunk allegedly broke into the woman’s house, snatched her mobile, beat her before raping her.
The victim is currently admitted to a district hospital and has undergone checkup and is in stable condition.
Senior Police Officer Nitin Tiwari was quoted saying that “The accused has been identified and all legal formalities will be completed soonest. He is a chowkidaar (guard) of the place where she was living”.
Amit Kumar SP (Rural) has told reporters that the samples from the crime scene have been taken for forensic tests.
District Magistrate who has also visited the victim at the hospital has directed the Doctors to give the victim the best care, reported India Express.
