MUMBAI: A 70-year-old was arrested for allegedly molesting a 7-year-old school girl on Tuesday on the terrace of a building in Malad.
The girl was playing on the terrace when the accused, Siddhanand Chaurasia, who runs a paan shop near the building came for a routine walk on the terrace.
While finding the girl alone he allegedly tried to molest the girl on the terrace. The alleged crime came to light when the girl revealed it to her mother.
Police were immediately informed and the accused got arrested by the Malad police station. Chaurasia has been living in Mumbai for the past 35 years, does not have a history of crime. He will be in police custody till October 14.
