70 cranes at Tank Bund for immersion

Immersion of Ganesh idols began on third day ofWednesday and the government made all arrangements for smooth conduct of the event as part of the 11 day long Ganesh Chaturthi festival. Several youths clad in saffron shirts and ribbons tied across their heads were seen soaking in the festive mood even as slogans like Ganesh Maharaj Ki jai and Ganapathi Boppa Moriya echoed at the tank bund – the immersion point.

Engineer in Chief Vijay Prakash today formally launched the immersion of the Ganesh idols at the Hussain Sagar near NTR Marg here. Speaking on the occasion he said that a total of 350 cranes are set up in the twin cities for the purpose. On 11th day 70 cranes will be ready for the immersion at the Hussain Sagar and a same number of mobile cranes are kept ready at necessary points for the immersion he said. we have pressed in expert swimmers and additional security has been provided at the lake and other places of immersion he remarked.
