7 killed in road mishaps in Karnataka

Bangalore, January 02: Seven people were killed and over 15 injured in three different road accidents in Karnataka today. Police said in Bijapur three people were killed and ten students were injured in a road mishap involving a KSRTC bus and a tempo at Talikote. The deceased included two girls and driver of the tempo. The students were on a picnic when the mishap occurred. The injured were admitted to Government Hospital. In the second incident, three members of a Delhi-based family were killed when the car in which they were travelling dashed against a tree in Chamarajanagar district when they were going to Kerala from Mysore. The accident occurred when the driver of the speeding car lost control near Hirika gate. They were identified as Vitsingh Rane (35), Cauveryjit Rane and Guruvit (36). Three children were also injured. They were admitted to a hospital in Gundlupet. One person was killed in Gulbarga when a speeding car hit him at Khadri Chowk in the city.
