‘7 Khoon Maaf’ music presents a mixed bag of emotions

New Delhi, Feb 13 (PTI) From flirtatious, romantic to rock and religious, director-composer Vishal Bhardwaj presents a mixed bag of emotions in the music album of his upcoming film ‘7 Khoon Maaf’.

Bhardwaj has carved a niche for himself, not only with his kind of films, but also their music, as seen in ‘Omkara’ and ‘Kaminey’. This Priyanka Chopra starrer black comedy carries the trend forward.

The first track ‘Darling’, already a chartbuster, is adapted from the Russian folk song ‘Kalinka’. Bhardwaj has retained the military drill-styled beats, making it a peppy, danceable track. Veteran singer Usha Uthup’s powerful voice, alongwith Rekha Bhardwaj’s earthy rendition is the perfect combination, carrying the spirit of a feisty woman.

‘Doosri Darling’, expressing the songstress’ compassion for her Russian lover, starts off in high spirits, but the tempo slows down and picks up at places.
