7 get life term in murder case

Osmanabad, December 22: Seven persons, including a sugar factory director and a woman, were sentenced to life term today by a court in connection with a murder case.

Judicial Magistrate First Class U T Lavate also slapped a fine of Rs 5,000 each on the convicts.

According to the prosecution, Terna Sugar factory director Vibishan Kale and his accomplices – Bhaskar Kale, Nana Basha Kale, Lala Kale, Rani Kale, Mohajibai Shinde and Nana Subarao Kale – murdered Laxman Kale on May 9, 2008 for having an illicit relationship with a woman in spite of being a married man.

The convicts, all residents of Dhoki village, asked Laxman to end his relation with the woman, but when he did not comply, they killed him, the prosecution said.
