65th National Film Awards: Sridevi posthumously awarded for ‘Mom’

New Delhi : Veteran actress Sridevi has been on Friday honoured with the ‘Best Actress’ award for her performance in her last movie ‘Mom’, at 65th National Film Awards.

The actress essayed a role of a purposeful mother, who vows to revenge the rape of her step-daughter.

A 10-member panel sat on Friday to announce the winners.

Jury members include Kannada director P Sheshadri, screenwriter Imtiaz Hussain, Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury, Tripurari Sharma, South Indian actress Gautami Tadimalla, Ranjit Das, Rumi Jaffrey, lyricist Mehboob, and Rajesh Mapuskar, headed by filmmaker Shekhar Kapur.

The official ceremony will be held on May 3, where President Ram Nath Kovind will hand-over the awards to the winners. (ANI)
