Hyderabad: The sleuths of vigilance wing of GHMC on Saturday razed down hundreds of illegal structures that have come up on foot paths of the city. As many as 620 illegal encroachments were demolished by the officials of the wing in a day long drive. The drive was conducted in six different major roads of the corporation.

It was led by the director of the vigilance wing of the corporation Vishwajeet kampati. Speaking on the occasion, the director said that they razed down 673 structures over a stretch of 2.8 km. He said that they had already razed down 12 footpath encroachments in the past . The director made it clear that they had taken up the drive as per section 504 of the GHMC Act and added that the drive would continue on the next Saturday as well.
