A six-year-old kid was mowed down by the wheel of a speeding RTC bus at Falaknuma in Old City on Wednesday morning.
As per Falaknuma police, Abood Ahmed, son of Abdul Samad, was on his way to school on a bike with his maternal uncle and grandmother. When they arrived at Vattepally bus stop, the bus came from behind and hit the bike.
Abood, fell down from the bike, came under the wheel of the vehicle and died on the spot.
Agitated locals damaged the windscreens of the bus leading to tension in the area.
The police without delay rushed to the spot and resorted to mild lathi charge to disperse the crowd. The boy’s body was shifted to Osmania Hospital for postmortem.
A case was registered against the driver under Section 304 A (Causing death by negligence) of the IPC.
