6 more bodies retrieved

Chimakurthy, March 02: Six more bodies of workers, who died in a mudslide while at work in a granite quarry here on Feb 25, were retrieved today. With this, the number of bodies retireved has risen to 12.

Officials suspect smore more bodies could be lying trapped among the boulders and mounds of mud at the accident site.

Five bodies retrieved today were identified as those of Yelagala Saidulu (water engine operator) of Ramulapuram village in Guntur district, Kamatham Nageswara Rao of Veerasvolu village in Khammam district, Buchi Srinu of Talluru village in Prakasam district, Tarakeswara Rao of Ramarajyanagar in Vijayawada and Y Peddiraju of Palacole in East Godavari district.

The sixth body is yet to be identified.

Meanwhile, some boulders at the site are being pulverised to retrieve another body.
