6 dead, 2 hurt in separate road mishaps in Tamil Nadu

Kancheepuram, December 07: Six people were killed and two injured in various mishaps across this district yesterday.

Two persons on a motorcycle were killed when their motorcycle rammed into a stationary lorry on Baanurpalem near Chengalpet.

The victims were identified as Sankar (21) and his friend Karuppuswamy (24).

Another man, Ezhumalai (40), was killed on the spot when his motorcyle was hit by a lorry VRT Chatram.

A youth from Orissa was killed when he was hit by a van at Chettipunyam near Maraimalainagar. He was identified as Deenabandhupaatra (25) of Sandarpur district.

In another incident, Chitrapathi (30), who was waiting for a bus at Adhiyamanam bus stand was hit by a motorcycle.

As an impact, Chitrapathi and the motorcyle riders, Dhanasekar (24) and Zakir (22), sustained grievous injuries. They were shifted to Chengalpet Government Hospital where Chitrapathi died.

A 51-year-old motorcyclist died when his two-wheeler was hit by an unidentified vehicle on the East Coast Road near Poonjeri.

He was admitted to the Government General Hospital in Chennai where he died.
