New Delhi, December 27: The fifth and last one day international against Sri Lanka has been stopped after the tourists complained about the state of the pitch.
India were right on top with the ball bouncing dangerously and the Sri Lankans reduced to 83 for 5 in 23.3 overs.
Zaheer Khan took 2 wickets and debutant Sudeep Tyagi and Harbhajan Singh one each as the bowlers proved to be unplayable on a newly laid, green Kotla wicket.
Earlier, India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni won the toss and opted to field at the Ferozeshah Kotla.
India have rested Sachin Tendulkar as Sudip Tyagi gets his maiden ODI cap. Sri Lanka have left out Mahela Jayawardene and Lasith Malinga while fast bowler Chanaka Welegedara and debutant Muthumudalige Pushpakumara were included in the team.
Further developments awaited.
