Raipur, March 16: As many as 57 animals died in the past two years in various wildlife sanctuaries in Chhattisgarh, Forest Minister Vikram Usendi told the state assembly Wednesday.
In a written reply to a Congress legislator, the minister said 38 of the animals died in in 2009-10 and 19 died later.
He said the government was making efforts to improve facilities at the sanctuaries so as to make their habitat more suitable to their lifestyle.
