55 days left for Civil Service Exam – Muslim students angry for delay in providing Civil Service Coaching

Hyderabad: One of the main reasons for the Muslim candidate not getting selected in Civil Service is not the students but the officers of Minorities Department who fail to arrange coaching for Civil Service Examinations on time.

As every year, this year also it was decided to provide quality coaching for Civil Service exams but it is very regrettable that the students are about to lose one year for which the officials are responsible.

Mr. KCR released Rs. 12 crore for providing quality coaching to Muslim candidates to enable them to prepare for Civil Services. Two months have elapsed and the candidates are disappointed that so far the authorities of Minorities Welfare Dept. have not been able to identify the best coaching center. Even if the students are admitted now in a coaching center, they won’t be able to complete the course. There are only 55 days left for Civil Service Preliminary Exam. In such a case it is difficult for any candidate to get selected. The committee to identify best coaching centers did not submit the report since 13th April.

It may be noted that a sub-committee was appointed consisting of Collector of Hyderabad, Mr. Rahul Bojja, IAS, Mr. Akun Sabharwal, IPS and Mr. Tafseer Iqbal, IPS. This committee was given two weeks time from 13th April to identify the best coaching center for Civil Service. Despite reminding by the Dept. of Minorities Welfare, the sub-committee did not submit its report. The Dept. had selected 62 candidates for this coaching program. CM had decided to offer best coaching for Muslim candidates but the officials are not implementing his intentions.

It may be noted that most of the coaching centers have been offering coaching for the past one year to the candidates and they are at the end of the coaching program. Center for Education Development of Minorities, Nizam College, OU had selected 62 candidates whereas there is a provision for offering coaching to 100 candidates.

The selected candidates complain that due to the lethargy of the officers of the Dept. of Minorities Welfare, one year of the students would be lost. It is reported that Mr. A.K. Khan has contacted the three member committee for submitting its report immediately.
