Almost 51 per cent of nearly 1.67 lakh voters have exercised their franchise in the elections for eight-ward Secunderabad Cantonment Board (SCB) held on Sunday.
The polling was held from 8 am to 5 pm on Sunday at 181 polling stations where people have voted through 400 EVMs to elect the candidates of their choice among the 114 persons in the fray. Over 1,200 personnel working in various departments were deputed for poll duties. They included about 500 police personnel.
The counting of votes will take place at PG College in Secunderabad on January 13, according to Returning Officer P Vittal. (INN)
