50,000 riots occurred during Congress rule: Akbaruddin Owaisi

Fifty thousand communal riots took place and Muslims were kept away from education and employment during 60 years Congress rule, said MIM floor leader Akbaruddin Owaisi while addressing a public meeting on the occasion of 59th Revival Day of All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen at Darussalam  on Thursday.

Akbaruddin Owaisi, in his address, paid rich tributes to late Fakhr-e-millat Abdul Wahed Owaisi and Salar-e-Millat late Sultan Salahuddin Owaisi  for giving a new direction to Muslim in politics in the country. Attacking the Congress, he said reports of the  committees like Sachar, Kundu, Rangan Mishra Commission, which were set up to study the socio-economic status of Muslim, were not implemented by the Congress. He said that the lock of Babri Masjid was opened when Congress was in power and the mosque was demolished during Congress regime. However, he said despite being in power, the Congress did nothing to punish the culprits.

Attacking the BJP, Akbar Owaisi accused the Modi Government of diverting attention from core issues. He said Donkey (gadha) Diwali, Qabrastan and Burqa have become the poll issues in Uttar Pradesh. He said while BJP members having link with ISI were arrested, seven Muslims under trails were killed in a fake encounter in Madhya pradesh.

Recalling the achievements of MIM, Akbaruddin Owaisi said it was on the representation of MIM, the Telangana Government issued order that Muslims be treated on par with SCs and STs. He said that the problems of Muslim community could be resolved only by achieving political power.

He also announced that the MIM would pressurise the Telangana Government to take action against the the policemen who were involved in the fake encounter at Alair in which five Muslim undertrials were killed. He said justice would be done with the families who last their loved ones.

Party legislators Syed Ahmed Pasha Quadri, Mumtaz Ahmed Khan, Moazam Khan, Jaffer Hussain Mehraj, Ahmed Bin Abdullah Balala, Kauser Mohiuddin, Syed Amim ul Hasan Jafri, Syed Altaf Hyder Razvi, newly elected corporators of Mumbai, Sholapur, Mumbra were also present in the function. (INN)
