New Delhi: 50000 teachers who are working in registered madaris under central scheme have not been paid salaries for two years; as a result several teachers are forced to leave the job.
Narendra Modi government has not released fund allotted to madaris during the past two years. Due to which madaris of 16 states, including Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh and Jharkhand where BJP is in power, are said to have affected. Recruitments were made in these states under SPQEM scheme provided by centres.
According to President All India Madrasa Modern Teacher Union, Raza Khan said there are altogether 18000 madaris in India, half of them are in Uttar Pradesh alone. He told that they have decided to stage protest. Uttar Pradesh Madrasa Board registrar Rahul Gupta also confirmed that the grant has not been received by the centre.
