Over 500 cab drivers participated in the free eye check-up camp organised by the Telangana State Cabs and Bus Operators Association (TSCBOA) in collaboration with MaxiVision Eye Super Speciality Hospitals.
The free eye check-up camp was held at Nizam Cabs premises in Madhapuron Saturday from 9 AM to 4 PM. TSCBOA president Syed Nizamuddin informed that the basic screening has been done in today’s camp. Some drivers who needed further treatment have been referred to the MaxiVision Hospital. In case some drivers require eye surgery, then such cases would be taken up by the TSCBOA to seek financial help under the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund and other schemes. He said the Association too would extend financial assistance wherever required.
Syed Nizamuddin said since it is compulsory for all drivers to have a better vision, the TSCBOA would incorporate free eye screening in all the drivers’ training programmes to be held in future. (NSS)
