Over all 200 children out of 500 are reported to be malnourished in Delhi, according to a survey conducted by a Delhi NGO and also Delhi based NGO Pardarshita conducted surveys to measure the weight of children in east Delhi’s Sundar Nagri.
Kaushal, 30-year-old knows that a diet of plain rice and rotis insufficient to properly nourish her children is less than a month old and feeding her is not easy as kaushal herself does not get healthy diets, which need well balanced vitamins, diet- calcium, carbs, proteins, and more.
GTB hospital, closest to Sundar Nagri should have an integrated child development scheme running under the Ministry of Woman and Child Development.This is one of the 11 listed hospitals by the Delhi government which is non functional. In fact, currently only one such center is fully functional at the Hindu Rao.
