The GMR Hyderabad International Airport Authority has agreed to waive 50% on the User Development Fee UDF for the Hajj pilgrims during the current Haj Season 2012.
Vikarm R Jaisinghani, Chief Executive Officer of GMR, in a communication has stated that giving due regard to the factors highlighted by the State government, the GMR was agreeable to continue the 50% waiver on the UDF.
State Haj Committee Chairman Janab Syed Khaleeluddin Ahmed Chairman while thanking the GMR authorities for the gesture said that on the instructions of Janab Mohammed Ahmadullah, Minister for Minorities Welfare, the Haj Committee made a representation to this effect. He said that due to the 50% waiver on the UDF, the Haj pilgrims from Hyderabad Embarkation Point would be able to save altogether over Rs 60 lakh. He also thanked the Minister for his keen interest for the welfare of the Haj pilgrims. He said that the GMR had given their consent in advance, which would facilitate the pilgrims in not remitting the full UDF charges this time. (NSS)
