More than 50 girl students of the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya at Akola in Maharashtra have alleged that they were subjected to vulgar talks and sexual advances by two of their male teachers.
The students in an unsigned complaint written to State Commission for Women member Dr Asha Mirge on March 27 alleged that for the last four years these two men were saying and doing things that were inapt for a teacher.
Around 50 students studying in standards 9 to 12 complained to Mirge about the two teachers identified as Shailesh Ramteke (49) and Rajan Gajbhiye (42).
“The girls complained that these two teachers often said vulgar things to girls,” Mirge said.
Ramteke taught biology and Gajbhiye taught chemistry is now on run.
As per their allegation, these two teachers would often hug the girls and remove their dupatta. The duo often talked about sex under the garb of sex education.
“They would demonstrate to girls how to use condoms,” Mirge said.
When the girls enlightened the matter to school’s Principal R.A. Singh, but he do not take into account their complaint. It was then that an unsigned letter was written to Mirge.
“Had there been an opportunity, these two teachers would have possibly raped the girls,” Mirge said. An FIR were booked against the duo last night under section 354(a) of IPC and Section 7 and 8 of Protection of Child from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO) Act.
