New Delhi, July 19: The government is offering 50 per cent reservation in PG diploma seats to medical students on the condition that they practice in rural areas for three years after their MBBS and for 2 years after their PG course.
This scheme as of now has been extended to in-service doctors with the idea of retaining talent in the rural sector.
These doctors will not be required to write the entrance exam and will be eligible for direct admission.
The Health Ministry has approved the plan and sent a draft notification to the Medical Council of India (MCI).
