50 Lakh families will benefit by Rachchabanda-II

Jaggampet, November 02: Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy has said that over 50 lakh families would be benefited during the second phase of the Rachchabanda program.

The Chief Minister, who launched the program here on Wednesday, said that the program has been taken up for resolving problems of the people. He pointed out that during the first phase of the program, some six lakh ration cards and three lakh houses were given. In the present round, 37,000 pensions and 38,000 houses were being sanctioned. He also said that his government was taking steps to ensure that any card holder would be able to draw ration anywhere in the State after March next year.

The Chief Minister said hat his government was keen to make the administration clean and transparent. He said he was making efforts to check corruption in several government departments. Asking the people to boldly turn against corruption, the Chief Minister said his government was setting up a special toll-free telephone number for lodging complaints against corruption.

The Chief Minister enumerated the steps the Congress government was taking to make the lives of farmers more comfortable. He said that his government was continuing free power supply to the farmers despite the heavy financial burden on the exchequer.

Referring to the earlier debt and loan waivers, the Chief Minister said the government was introducing interest-free crop loans to the farmers up to Rs 1 lakh from the Rabi season.
