London, November 01: American rapper 50 Cent says he makes violent records to please his fans.
“For a certain audience some guys can just make straight pop records and it will go to a 40 or 50 million audience and they can just be happy and like their records. But because of the public has assessed me in a certain way, they expect from me to have that kind of aggression that ‘crimewave’ embodies,” he said.
“And they are looking for that. Even if you have a big hit record like ‘P.I.M.P’ they still want the ‘crimewave’ record. They still want that record that feels like the environment I grew up in feels like,” he added.
According to the reports that the rapper, 34, says he accepts his position in the hip-hop world and is happy to keep making hits that please his hardcore fanbase.
“It doesn’t put pressure on me because I have assessed it. If they place those standards on you, you got to make the adjustments.”
50 Cent also stars in British gangster film “Dead Man Running”, and is releasing his album “Before I Self Destruct” next month.
