Faridabad: A five-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her neighbour in Faridabad, police said today.
The girl’s mother lodged a complaint with police saying that yesterday, while she was busy with her daily routine work, her daughter went to play at their neighbour’s house.
The girl’s father returned home and asked about her whereabouts following which he went to their neighbour’s place where he found his daughter crying at the doorstep, police said.
The complainant then asked his neighbour Dilshad (17), as to why the girl was crying.
Instead of replying to the question, Dilshad tried to flee from the spot after which the girl’s parents along with their neighbours caught hold of him and locked him up in a room, they said.
The girl then narrated the incident to her parents and a case was registered with Surajkund Police Station, Faridabad under section 363 (kidnapping), 366A (procuration of minor girl) and 376 (rape) of IPC and section 6 of POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act).
Police have started investigations in the matter, said investigating officer ASI Indubala.
