New Delhi: A five-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a juvenile in southwest Delhi’s Dwarka area, police said today.
The girl had gone to a shop in Pochanpur area where she lived and was waylaid by the 16-year-old accused on Tuesday night. He took her to a deserted place and allegedly raped her, a police officer said.
The girl somehow walked back to her home and told her mother about the incident who searched for the accused and managed to catch him. But the boy managed to free himself and run away, police said.
The girl was taken to DDU hospital where she was operated upon for injuries. A case has been registered under relevant sections of IPC and POCSO Act and search is on to nab the accused, a senior police officer said.
