Five women have committed have suicide in Punjab in last two days.
These Four women had ended their lives due to harassment by their husbands. According to information received from Punjab police, Renu Bala of Machaki Mall Singh village committed suicide on June 3 due to alleged harassment by her husband and his family members. The Kotakpura police had registered a case against husband and other family members under sections 306 of the IPC.
Balwinder Kaur of Majra Khurd took her life the same day owing to the same reason. The Ladhowal police had registered a case against the husband and other family members under sections 306, 34 of the IPC. Manjinder Kaur of Barnala committed suicide on June 4 due to alleged harassment by her husband for dowry. The Rajkot police in Ludhiana district has registered a case against husband under sections 304-B of the IPC. Kamlesh Rani of Tarmala village committed suicide the same day for the some reason. The Lambi police has registered a case against the husband under sections 306, 116 of the IPC. Seema Rani of Faridkot allegedy harassed by her tenant Sukhwinder Singh, a resident of Kotakpura along with one of his accomplice. The Kotakpura police in Faridkot district had registered a case against the two. UNI
