5 vehicles impounded for violation of code

Narnaul, September 10: Additional Deputy Commissioner and election officer of Ateli Assembly constituency today impounded five vehicles involved in poll publicity without having valid permission.

In a press release issued by the election office, these vehicles were being used for poll publicity which was violation of the model code of conduct.

As per provisions of Model Code of Conduct, any party or candidate should avail prior permission from the concerned election officer for use of vehicles for poll publicity whereas permission for loudspeaker for particular vehicle should avail from the SDM.

The impounded vehicles include a mini truck pol khol rath of the INLD party. It was converted as publicity vehicle without any prior permission.

The pol khol rath has been kept at police station Kanina.

Another vehicle a jeep marked with Haryana Government has also been impounded and kept at Kanina police station.

Two other vehicles a jeep temporary number and a Bolero were found involved in poll publicity without legal permission and impounded at Narnaul police station. Same as, another vehicle was also impounded at Ateli police station.

An administrative spokesman said these vehicles had been impounded in violation of model code of conduct. He said no one would be allowed to violate the code of conduct.

The District Election Officer had implemented single window system for the political parties and its candidates where such kind of permissions were given under one roof, he said
