5 people killed, 10 injured in Turkey’s capital Ankara by deadly explosion

At least 5 people have been killed and another 10 have been wounded in a large explosion in the Turkish capital of
Ankara on Wednesday.

The governor of Ankara, Mehmet Kiliclar said a car bomb had caused the explosion and the target had been Turkey’s military personnel, who were travelling in a separate vehicle. While the spokesman of Turkey’s ruling party denounced the event as “an act of terrorism.”

President Recep Erdogan called an emergency security meeting following the blast, and Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu was scheduled to travel to Brussels but later cancelled his trip due to the attack

The eye witnesses shared the images on social media which shows showing a huge plume of smoke rising into the sky and a large fire burning at the site of the explosion.

This is the fourth major explosion in Turkey in the past few months. Turkey has become a target for ISIL, last year the two bombings were blamed on the armed group in the town
of Suruc near the Syrian border and in the capital Ankara. Which killed more than 100 people.
