5 new maternity hospitals to come up in the state

Hyderabad: Govt. of Telangana has decided to construct new maternity hospitals at 5 places of Telangana with the cost of 35 crore. Telangana government is giving special attention to health and welfare of mother and child. KCR Kits scheme is being implemented to prevent unnecessary caesarian sections and to provide facilities in government hospitals on par with corporate hospitals.

Besides it has been decided to construct 5 new maternity hospitals at Eturnagaram, Kamareddy, Manthani, Suryapet, and Achampet. Government has approved the suggestions put forth by the health department.

Each hospital will comprise of 50 beds and will be constructed with the cost of Rs. 7 Cr. Presently there are 23 maternity hospitals in the state.
