Dehradun, December 08: Five people were killed and 22 injured when a bus in fell into a deep gorge near Gadwagaad in Pauri tehsil of Pauri Garhwal district of Uttarakhand today. According to Disaster Mitigation and Management Centre (DMMC) sources here, the accident occurred at around 0730 hrs this morning when the bus driver lost control of the vehicle which rolled down about 35 metre into a deep gorge. The bus was carrying 27 passengers on way from Kotdwar to Joshimath. While five people died in the accident, 22 injured were taken to Shrinagar government hospital, sources said.Chief Minister B C Khanduri has expressed deep sorrow at the accident and prayed for peace to the departed souls. He also prayed for fast recovery of the injured. Congress Spokesperson Dhirendra Pratap, while extending condolences to the victims family, has demanded a compensation of Rs two lakh each for next of the kin of the deceased
