As many as 490 personnel, including 10 inspectors, were suspended in 2015 as Delhi Police witnessed 55 per cent rise in number of vigilance enquiries initiated against the corrupt police officials.
The suspended officials include 10 inspectors, 90 sub-inspectors, 46 assistant sub-inspectors, 97 head constables
and 247 constables, according to police records.
“We also initiated 682 departmental enquiries against 1017 officials, of which 614 have been disposed during the year,” Delhi Police Commissioner B S Bassi today said at the department’s annual press conference here.
In 2015, a total of 838 vigilance enquiries have been initiated as compared to 541 initiated in the previous year and disciplinary action was taken against 53 police officials, including one assistant commissioner, records revealed.
