Tirupati, February 20: The all-party meeting held here today resolved to besiege Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams administrative building for 48 hours from February 26 protesting the TTD’s decision to hold the Trust Board meeting at Kanyakumari.
K Murali, K Kumar Reddy (CPM), Venkaiah (CPI), G Bhanu p r a k a s h (BJP), Anjaiah (RPI), G Narasimha Yadav (TDP), D Rambhupal Reddy (Congress) and other leaders attended the meeting.
The leaders demanded that the TTD cancel the Trust Board meeting at Kanyakumari scheduled for February 28. Terming the move a waste of temple funds, they said the TTD Trust Board meeting should be conducted in Tirupati only.
The meeting flayed the TTD for its `failure’ to implement the decisions taken by the Trust Board at its earlier meetings on rehabilitation of Tirumala oustees and Vaikuntham Queue Complex vendors. It also demanded provision of service benefits to TTD contract workers. Meanwhile, Praja Rajyam Party and Lok Satta Party have also decided to take part in the siege of TTD administrative building on February 26.
