Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday said that as many as 47 percent of the state universities are accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).
Addressing the second day of the Collectors’ Conference here, Naidu asked all the collectors to focus more on primary education.
“13 varsities have applied for National Institute Ranking Framework (NIRF) ranking. 11 varsities have the ranking.VIT, SRM, Centurian, IFMR, Great Lakes international university etc are brought into the purview of AP Private Universities Act as Greenfield Private universities,” he said.
He said at least 11 universities are coming into the state with Rs.15,800 crores to provide education to 1.62 lakh students.
“Of them, 4 varsities started classes in present academic year, remaining seven varsities will start classes from next academic year,” he added. (ANI)
