South Central Railway General Manager P.K. Srivastava exhorted 309 Railway Protection Force Constables Recruits to live up to their pledge which they have taken at an impressive Passing Out Ceremony (Dikshant Parade), held at the RPF Training Centre, Moula Ali, on Wednesday.
At the passing out ceremony, the RPF recruits took an oath that they would render service with utmost dedication and perform their duties without fear or favour. They have successfully completed a seven month rigorous initial training at this training centre and passed out with instruction to report to regular duty on various railway Zones in the Country, as per their allotment.
In his address, Srivastava, who was the Chief Guest at the Passing Out Ceremony, said that these RPF Constable Recruits (41st Batch) were imparted training in various fields such as infantry, weaponry, un-armed combats and also in yoga. He urged them to be committed and dedicated to their duties to safeguard the image of railways by preventing theft, dacoit etc., on railways. The responsibilities of RPF had increased tremendously after the amendments to RPF Act and RPF renders valuable service to ensure the security of railway properties, passengers and their luggage. At present, RPF personnel escort 140 trains daily and they use surveillance cameras at major stations to enhance security, he added.
Earlier, Srivastava, inspected the passing out parade, received the guard of honour. Impressed by the smart turn out of parade, Srivastava announced a group cash award of Rs. one lakh. He gave away the medals and certificates to the outstanding candidates of the training course. Sajeer bagged the all round (indoor & outdoor) best performer medal while Shyam secured best indoor performer medal and Ramachandran clinched the best outdoor performer medal.
SCR Chief Security Commissioner S.C. Parhi and RPF Training Centre Director Mahim Swamy also spoke on the occasion. Senior railway officials, staff of SCR and Chief Security Commissioner of Southern Railway Mohan were present on the occasion. (INN)
