Hyderabad: TRS’ anti-Muslim stance came to light after an old masjid of Hyderabad was demolished by Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation and Hyderabad traffic police in the name of road widening. Locals allege that GHMC and Hyderabad Traffic police carried out the demolition work in the darkness of the night and razed 400-year-old, Eik Khana Masjid and Ashurkhana.
Anger prevails among locals against the government and said the silence of Telangana State Waqf Board could not be ignored. MBT and other Muslim organisations stage protest against the move. Former corporator of MBT Amjadullah Khan demanded action against people who collected 6 Cr by cheating GHMC. He also demanded probe into the matter and construction of the masjid.
Muslims took to social media and expressed their anger.
